Planner

Flagship Amsterdam is a fast growing and young shipping company in the center of Amsterdam. We offer both round trips and private cruises on our beautiful open sloops and classic salon boats. We started in 2017 with three boats, have grown since to nearly 40 boats and we are still growing! We cruise through the canals all year round with the help of our young & ambitious team consisting of over 300 (seasonal) employees.

What will you do?

In order to provide a 5-star experience to all our guests on a daily basis, good staff planning is essential. As a planner at Flagship Amsterdam you have an important and challenging job. Through the deployment of enough skippers, hostesses and quay staff you are the one who makes it possible that our boats sail every day from early morning until late at night. As a planner you are also the first point of contact for employees for all questions regarding the schedule (think of vacation requests or requests to swap shifts). Although we are a fairly large shipping company, we find a personal approach very important! As a planner it is therefore important to maintain good contact with all employees (both by phone and face-to-face) .

Duties and responsibilities:

• Taking care of both short-term and long-term staff planning (daily and weekly planning and monthly and quarterly planning);
• Analyzing and identifying staffing needs;
• Ensuring optimal staffing levels;
• Processing administrative data such as timekeeping, sick leave and leave;
• Creating a daily app to inform the staff for the day;
• Daily handover to Duty managers;
• Welcoming new staff and familiarizing them with the scheduling system;
• Keeping in touch with active staff (both in person and by phone);
• Maintain scheduling mailbox;
• Arranging ad hoc employees in case of high emergency/sickness/absence;
• Entering shifts into the scheduling system using boat schedules.

Who are you?

The ideal planner is stress resistant, analytical and loves a challenge. You are driven to make the impossible possible every day! With your communication skills and persuasiveness, you manage to fill even the last-minute gaps in the planning.

The planning team works from Monday to Sunday, both during the day and in the evenings. It is therefore important that you are flexible.

In addition:

• You completed a relevant education (MBO+);
• You have at least 1 year of work experience in a similar position;
• You are are skilled in both Dutch and English;
• You are available for 24 to 40 hours per week;
• You are available for at least one weekend day per week.
