Break-a-Car Amsterdam

Break-a-Car is the ultimate stress relief activity. It is precisely what it sounds like: your group is given a real, decommissioned car, a selection of demolition tools (sledgehammers, baseball bats, golf clubs), and permission to wreck it. It is a controlled environment where you can unleash your inner fury safely.

Yes, safety is our top priority. Before you start swinging, you will receive a comprehensive safety briefing from a professional instructor. We provide all necessary protective gear, including overalls, gloves, and safety glasses. The instructor remains present throughout the session to ensure everyone follows the rules.

We provide an arsenal of “tools” for destruction. You can expect to wield sledgehammers, baseball bats, golf clubs, and hockey sticks. Part of the fun is figuring out which tool works best for smashing windows versus denting the roof!

This is a favorite for bachelor parties (stag dos) looking for high-energy fun. However, it is also increasingly popular for corporate teams. It serves as a unique “anger management” session or just a hilarious way to break out of the office routine. Note: Participants must be sober to ensure safety.

Because smashing cars is loud and messy, the activity takes place at a licensed scrap yard on the outskirts of Amsterdam (and occasionally Utrecht). It’s an authentic “greasy car graveyard” setting that adds to the atmosphere.

The location is outside the city center, so transport is not automatically included in the base price. However, Flagship Events can arrange private transfers (bus or taxi) for your group to and from the venue. Alternatively, we can provide clear instructions for public transport or Uber.

The standard session lasts approximately 90 minutes. This includes the arrival, safety briefing, gearing up, and plenty of time to wreck the vehicle. It’s an intense workout, so 90 minutes is usually more than enough time to exhaust your group!

Yes! Smashing a car builds an appetite. We can arrange a BBQ lunch on-site at the scrap yard for a true “rugged” experience. There are also options to add extras—ask our team when you request a quote.

We provide protective overalls to cover your clothes, but we strongly recommend wearing sturdy, closed-toe shoes and comfortable clothing underneath that you can move easily in. Do not wear sandals, heels, or expensive suits.

To ensure safety and maximize the fun, we allocate cars based on your group size. A small group might share one car, while larger corporate groups will be assigned multiple vehicles to ensure everyone gets enough “smashing time” without overcrowding.

Absolutely. This is a highly “Instagrammable” (in a chaotic way) event. You are welcome to take photos and videos. We often see teams filming slow-motion videos of shattering glass. Just ensure the person filming is standing in a safe zone!

The cars are “end-of-life” vehicles destined for the scrap heap, so they may have some wear and tear, but they are generally intact with windows and bodywork ready for you to destroy. You get the satisfaction of doing the major damage.

Once you are done, the car is responsibly recycled by the scrap yard. All hazardous materials (like fluids and batteries) are removed before you arrive, and the scrap metal is processed afterwards. It’s a destruction cycle that ends in recycling.

The venue often plays high-energy music to get the adrenaline pumping. If you have a specific “destruction playlist” (heavy metal or techno usually works well!), let the instructor know, and they might be able to blast it for you.
