About Flagship: 

Flagship Amsterdam is a young and rapidly growing shipping company in the center of Amsterdam. We offer both public cruises and private tours on our beautiful open sloops and classic salon boats. We started in 2017 with three boats, have since grown to more than 53 boats, and we’re still expanding! Annually, we welcome people from over 55 nationalities, cruising throughout the year with the help of our young and ambitious team, consisting of more than 400 (seasonal) employees.

What will you do?

Are you looking for a challenging job on the water combined with freedom, responsibility and variety? Then come work at the best shipping company in Amsterdam and become a skipper at Flagship Amsterdam! As skipper at Flagship Amsterdam you are responsible for the safe and comfortable transport of our guests in one of our beautiful open sloops or luxury salon boats. In addition, you will join the host(ess) in telling stories about the city while the host(ess) provides guests with a delicious cocktail.

During your position you will:

• Cruise the guests around during a public tour or private cruise;
• Ensure the safety of the guests and staff on board;
• Tell stories about Amsterdam, its history and sights;
• Answer guests’ questions and provide assistance as needed;
• Maintaining and checking the vessel and identifying any problems;
• Working a lot as a team, including with hosts and quay staff;

Job requirements

Requirements:

As a skipper at Flagship Amsterdam, it is important that you have communication skills and love working in a team. You are also flexible, enthusiastic and hospitable!

In addition:

• You are in possession of a boating license (KVB 1 or 2) and a VHF licence;
• You are in possession of a certificate for Social Hygiene (SVH) OR you are willing to get these on short notice;
• As a skipper you will be following our Flagship Academy practical training courses;
• Experience with sailing on the Amsterdam canals is a plus;
• You are available minimum of 2-3 days a week (of which at least one weekend day per week). Shift times can vary between 08:00 and 02:00.
